| | I am a surrealist artist in my mid fifties. I love to paint with oils. Painting is like meditation for me. It brings me stillness. I used to be very structured and caught up in realism but my latest paintings are not planned or sketched out, I paint them directly onto canvas from my higher conciousness, whilst in a meditative state. My years of learned knowledge and awareness is also tapped into.(Music plays a large part in this process). I have found immense freedom in this form of expression. Once I have captured the essence of the vision I have been given I utilize my own painting technique and therefore add my energy to the creation. I love the exciting discoveries I make every time I paint, and I love to see the reaction of the viewer as the painting relates its visual message. |

| Description | Tibetan Buddhists believe that saying the mantra (prayer), Om Mani Padme Hum, out loud or silently to oneself, invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion. Viewing the written form of the mantra is said to have the same effect. I let this painting create itself. |
